Just published the high fashion editorial 'Feminine Red' with a collection by designer Sheguang Hu, who recently wowed the international press at the China Fashion Week 2012.
Check out the full results here.
In the past week I have shot the high fashion editiorial 'Feminine Red', which is by far the most ambitious project I have worked on. This editorial is focused on the elegant creations by haute couture designer Sheguang Hu. The shoot is devided in Part I and II, respectively set in the studio and modern Asian restaurant Red Chilli.
Results should be up very soon!
The fashion editorial Love, Hate and Regrets has been published on ISSUU.com.
Love, Hate and Regrets is a project that I put a lot of effort into producing. Thanks goes to Martine F. for her excellent role play and Yachar Dabboussi's tremendous make-up and hair skills.
The editorial tells the story of a love triangle that ends up with a lot of hate and regrets. From the get-go I wanted to aim for a cinematic look. Special thanks goes to Edwin Sahertian.
Take a look at the full serie here.
'The Ordinary Family', a furniture collection by product and interior designer Ka-Lai Chan is presented at the Object Rotterdam 2012 expo. The expo runs between February 8 and February 12 2012.
I had the honour to work with Chan on the product photography of this stunning collection. Here's a brief sample of the five-piece collection. Check her website at www.kalaichan.nl for more information.
The full set is available in the gallery.

More coming very soon!
This is utterly great news as I've just received a message that my entry in DIGIPHOTO PRO's October 2011 Model & Portrait photo contest has been selected as one of the four winning photographs!
Unfortunately, I'm currently on a trip in Japan, so I'd have to skip the workshop by Patrick Kaas. Nonetheless, this recognition is a great reward by itself. Here's the winning photo:
Check the DIGIPHOTO PRO website for the other winners.
This weekend I was invited to join Amsterdam based Cosmo MGMT for a big test shoot production. The team consisted of the a videographer, two DJs, a make-up & hair artist, a catwalk coach, floor managers, assistents, two photographers and of course a bunch of models.
It was a great experience and met some great people there. It's a great start and hopefully the things will only be improved upon. Should post some early shots pretty soon!
Dutchphotozone.com is one the largest community for high level photography. One photo which is part of a photo shoot titled 'Mystery Lady BC' is featured at the front page. It's a small bonus, but a very sweet one which I'm very proud of!
On June 17 2011, I was at the All Hearts Revue show held at Podium Victorie, Alkmaar. The line-up consisted of some of the coolest and best artsist known in the region, including Gerhardt, Channah and the Black Oysters. Some of the photos I shot that evening are published in the photo report at 3VOOR12, an renowned platform for the local alternative pop scene.
Perhaps my coolest publication yet, I've scored the opening spread of the article 'Expertcursus Interieurfotografie' (Expert Course Interior Photography) in issue 6, 2011 Dutch Photography Magazine Zoom. The published photograph is part of a serie titled 'Interiors: An Afternoon at blue°, Amsterdam'

Here's a quick little preview of a recent photo shoot with little baby girl Lynn. She's so adorable and a real joy to photograph. More to follow soon!

Next week I'll be shooting at the HKU Fashionshow, part of the AIFW 2011 Downtown programme. This show is open to the public and is held at the Westerpark in Amsterdam. Should be great fun. Check the HKU Fashionshow Facebook page or the official AIFW site for further details.
Stay tuned for updates.
Heart Broken is a concept about a girl that has had her lover broke up with her and is in the middle of a mental break down. This concept is already a year old, so I decided it was time to share it with the world.
Check out the full set.
A new category has been added to the portfolio, Concerts & Events, in which I'll be posting photos from concerts and events. My first dib in this category was at the All Hearts Revue with great acts from Gerhardt, Channah, Black Oysters, DJ Hark, Hans Langeree and hairstylist Michael Klick.
Here's a taste of the photos:
Coming up soon: A photo shoot shoot with two great models, Felicia Rook @ XistanZ Model Manangement and Ilse Suvaal @ iD Model Management.
Our theme is named 'Glamourous Twins' in which the girls will be portrayed as a twins or two look-a-likes. It'll be a very sexy, glamourous, very boudoir-like photo shoot. Very excited about it, so check back soon for the first results!
Update: Results are up at this gallery!
Posted the first volume of a new series, 'Beautiful Interiors'. Check out the album here.
Posted the two press photos released to the Dutch media of the new RTL4 show Go Cycling, hosted by Saar Koningsberger and Eric Bouwman.
Check for more information www.crossriver.nl or www.terra-preta.nl.
In just a few days I'll be shooting for SFM with several new model faces. A great location is set, which is in a small industrial area in the north part of Amsterdam.
We're planning to start the shoot with a casual top & jeans shoot before moving on to some slicker, sexier black and white shots.
All preparations are set and I can't wait to see what this day will bring. Keep you posted for the first shots!

Just posted a set of photos for Annie Ching's Fashion Collection. More photos will be published soon. She will also exhibit at the Nieuwe Ontwerpers expo in Rotterdam from January 22 till February 4 2011. Be sure to take a look!
Posted a new set of photos in the Models & Portaits section. Lin is young, natural talent and is currently contracted by BM Model Management. Check out the full set here.

In the past few months, I've done quite a few photo shoots which I'm eager to show the world. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to finish the editing or putting the final results up yet. So it's time to update the portfolio and get the stuff online. The cool stuff include The Annie Ching Fashion Collection, the shoot for SFM, an edgy fashion shoot with Anniek Vermeulen in the Qbic Hotel Amsterdam and a glamour shoot with Jessica van den Berg in bed and breakfast Het Gein.
Here's a brief previews of things to come:
Anniek Vermeulen @ Qbic Hotel Amsterdam

SFM Photo shoot

Glamour shoot Jessica @ B&B Het Gein

Things are well underway for a big photo shoot in early 2011. Casting partner Tayron has done well to find new faces for this photo shoot. We'll be shooting in a recently renovated, but empty office building. Both the interior as well as exterior are rough, raw and industrial.
We are planning several themes and sessions, but I'm especially looking for to the Black & White theme. Strong poses, fierce looks, kinda abstract. Very excited!
I'm in the middle of a 50's style pin-up photo shoot right now. Schedule is tight, but we've got some cool ideas coming up. Hopefully we'll manage to get some great shots out of this.
The team consists of Linda Fonseca (Styling & Production), Lies Waterman (Make-up & Hair), Irene Gerlof (Model) and me (Photography).
Having shot more than 3000 photos on my trip to Morocco, it's not an easy task to pick the best photos and put them in a collection. Fortunately, I had a fairly good idea how the trip would look like and what I wanted to shoot.
Generally speaking, the photos can separated by interior photos, landscapes, cities and of course some personal photos. Having selected and posted the interior collection already, I'll start working on the landscapes and cities collection next. The full collection will be named Mystic Moods Morocco from now on :)
Mystic Moods Morocco, the full set:
Posted the final part of the Moroccan interiors photos. Dar Bladi, the first accomodation in this set had a beautiful view looking over the lake of Ouarzazate. That was seriously a breathtaking view!
Our last stay in Morocco was Riad Dar Leila, a very hard to find riad in the Medina of Marrakech. Fortunately, the rooms are simply amazing. Be sure to check out all the shots. Here's a brief preview:

Check out all sets:
Posted the second part of the Morocco interiors serie. This part of the trip took us all the west to Rissani and Merzouga. For the most part, we stayed in Kasbah Ennasra, a large accomodation with a beautiful and relaxing mood to it.

Check out the full set here.
Recently went to Morocco for a ten day long trip and stayed in various accomodations. This, of course, was a perfect opportunity to shoot a lot of interior photos. I've split the photos in three sets, starting with the first part which includes:
- Riad Amiris, Marrakech, Morocco
- Jardin Majorelle, Marrakech, Morocco
- Dar Mouna, Aït Ben Haddou, Morocco

Check out the full set here.
This past weekend I had the opportunity to work with friend and fashion designer Annie Ching. Our team consisted of two young and talented models, Felicia and Lin, as well as make-up artist Charlotte van Beusekom.
We had a great photo shoot in the studio. I think we got some great results. Can't wait to start working on the photos! The previews should be up very soon!
Check out photos from the ArtEZ Graduation Fashion Show 2010.
It's been quite awhile, but finally managed to post some cool photos from the 'Grunge Glam' shoot. More photos will be added in the near future, but check out these below and more in the gallery.
Special thanks goes to the Hans & The Crew @ the Backstage Hotel in Amsterdam!

In May, Leoni Goudkuil entered FHM's Buurmeisje 2010 (Girl Next Door) contest and swept away the first prize. She won a trip to Tunesia as well as a photo shoot with the first and second runner's up.
This month, she's finally on the cover of FHM in the September issue. Take a look at the cover at www.fhm.nl.
So big props to her! Congrats Leoni!

This is it, the final photo for project Sora. It's been a wonderful journey. For the final day I went to Grootschermer, which according to many has the most beautiful sky in The Netherlands. It didn't disappoint for sure.

So what's next, you wonder? The original idea was to make a themed photobook out of this project and that's what I'll be doing next. I also have plans to make my first Sora timelapse. So this sure isn't the last thing you'll hear or see about Sora!
Check out the complete project here.
Just posted a new album for the Annie Ching runway collection shown at the ArtEz Graduation Fashion Show 2010.

Check out the full album at http://www.visualcreature.nl/cms/gallery/Models-Portraits/annie-ching-runway-collection/25/
It's hard to imagine it's been a month since I started this project. It's been an eventful and creative month. I really enjoyed the journey and I believe I have gotten some great shots. The challenge and the goal of this project was to push the creativity and my photographic skills to a new level. I'm planning on bundles these images in a photobook at Blurb.com.
Today marks the final day of this project. So hopefully I can shoot something great and make this go out with a bang!
For today I went to look for something I've been wanted to do for a long time: shooting the big X. Electricity masts are everywhere, but it's hard to find one which is both reachable and safe. I think it makes quite an impactful image.

Check out the full Sora project here.
This photo was taken at valley in Spaarnwoude, a recreation area near Amsterdam. I knew it was an interesting area and I ended up with a lot of great shots. I decided on photo as it has an both the sky, the valley, the rocks and this interesting circle-shaped staircase.

Day 25 was another tricky one, as because I didn't have the time to take photographs. So my only option was to get outside around 12 AM to try and find something. Unfortunately, it was raining like crazy at that time. This was shot right after a rain shower. After taking this shot it started pouring again, so I had to call it day.

Check out the full project Sora here.
Haven't gotten around to post the photos yet. Here's Day 23 & 24, shot in the fields of Ursem and in my neighbourhood respectively:

Check out the full serie here.
Same place as yesterday and another shot at trying to capture the perseids. Due to heavy clouds, I only managed to do two captures, this being the longer one. Exposure time @ 29 minutes.

Check out yesterday's result here.
This one is shot in the fields of Ursem. I went outside because it's a day before the annual Perseids meteor shower. Tomorrow should be its peak, but I went outside to see if I could catch any. I did catch a few. This photo however is devoid of any perseids, but is still a beauty. Let's hope for an even better result tomorrow!

This is Day 20 of Project: Sora, that means we have ten more photos left to do! Today was very gray and rainy. Feels like Summer is over and Autumn is around the corner.
When I downloaded this image to the computer, there really wasn't much to do about colours as it was almost completely in grayscale. This is what I have decided on:

Check out the full project here.
Another double post today. I planned for something else for Day 18, but when I tried my first shot, I noticed I forgot to insert the CF card back to the camera. So I had to wait till I got home, picked it up and went for a drive in the neighbourhood looking for a good spot.
Found a nice open space between Alkmaar en Heerhugowaard and took a few photos. It's tough getting a good shot in the middle of the night!
The day after was a lot easier as I had things planned in the evening, still plenty of sun light and found some interesting place on my way home. I settled for this field next to the roads.

Also, you might also want to check out the full project.
Day 17 was a tough one. Had a family gathering so I didn't had much time to go out and shoot. Besides, it was the first rainy day with huge clouds. It all looked very gray with not much contrast. I knew I would be shooting for a black and white photo, but without some contrast in sky, it would be one boring picture.
Having taken a little drive around, I found a little path that lead towards a large field. The rocky path had a little pool of water and that caught my eye. I think the result is pretty decent and comes fairly close to what I had in my mind.

Check the full album here.
This is a huge update. Haven't been able to post them yet. There are some great shots taken in the past few days. Including one that I've been trying since the start of this project.
On Day 13, I finally found the right spot and right moment to capture both the sky in front of me, as well as the sky behind me through the wing mirror of my car.
Both the photo of Day 14 and 16 belong to one of my favourites so far. I love the elegance of it. There's only less than two weeks left. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep it up!

Check out the other entries at the full album!
I noticed I'm starting to pick my moments to take the photos, the past few days has been moments of maybe 15 minutes, whereas on the first day I shot photos throughout the day. Anyway, this is Day 11 photo!

Project Sora Day 10 now. That means we're at one third of the project :)

Day 8 is back to basics again. Just a good plain old blue sky with some nice clouds.

View the full project here.
Project Sora has been running for a full week now and what better way to celebrate this with an amazing balloon flight! As expected I had lots and lots of choice for this one, so picking the one for Day 7 was hard. After much consideration, I decided to go for this one.

Visit the full project here.
This one is a bit late to the party. For Day 6 I went for a monochrome sky. Actually, it's more of a duotone, as there's a hint of yellow and dark blue in it.

Check the full project here.
I didn't had much time to shoot for Day 5 as the sun was almost fully set already! I managed to grab the last sunrays on my way home.

View the full project.
Today was tricky. I didn't have enough time to pick my time or drive around to shoot. I knew I had time around 9PM and that was perfect timing. Sun started to set and lit the clouds nicely.

Also, head to the full project.
Today was a tough one! I was in The Hague and didn't quite get the opportunity to shoot some photos. There were hardly any clouds today as well, so that made it quite a challenge to make some interesting shots. It wasn't till midnight that I got some ideas.
The moon was brightly lit tonight and casted light on the clouds. So I set up the camera on a tripod and shot with a remote with timer set at 30 seconds. Wasn't expecting to see such dramatic clouds. I like it!

It's Day 2 of project 'Sora'. I had literally a hand full of top picks to go for. It wasn't easy, but this is the Day 2 photo:

Check out the full project here.
Today marks the day of working on my first personal photography project. One that emcompasses a full 30 days of work. Inspired by a beautiful sky on my home, I decided to start work on project 'Sora', which means [天] or 'sky' in Japanese.
So here's the result for Day 1:

Some time ago I went to the beach near my home town, Bergen aan Zee to test out the Sigma 10-20 EX + ND Fader from Light Craft Workshop. The results are finally posted, so check out the full set here.

Here's a preview of the shoot taken with Cristina recently. This is first photo out of the set that is finalized, so expect more soon!

Posted new photos of the shoot with Connie Lai and Charlotte van Beusekom. I'm really happy with the results. Go check 'm out.

A new set of photos has been added. After the Chic Chick shoot, I continued working with Nicolien on this Jewelry shoot. We didn't quite have enough time to try different things, but I'm quite happy with what we managed.
The lovely Cindy Chan is in the running to becoming the new face of Hi Society, a telecom brand. She's in the top 50 right now, but needs every support she can get.

Will you help her out? Visit www.hicasting.nl to cast your vote!
Today I had a photo shoot planned with Cristina Hohan, a lovely model from Romania. I had this idea of using a large bright yellow fabric which I hang from the ceiling. Cristina did a great job doing her own make-up with black and yellow. I was amazed by the modeling skills as well, she really brought my idea to live! So thank you Cristina!
Photos will be posted when they're done!
A new photo shoot has been added in the Model & Portraits section. This photo shoot was taken in the cool citizenM Hotel in Amsterdam with the lovely model Cindy Chan.
ContinueLast year, I worked with Leoni Goudkuil and Bjorn Remmerswaal on the Love & Passion photo shoot at Hotel Patou. Just recently, I caught wind of Leoni's participation in the annual FHM Buurmeisje (Girl next door) competition. I an even greater surprise, she managed to win the whole thing just over a week ago!
Her prizes include winning a fancy scooter as well as a photo shoot in Tunisia with the first and second runner-ups Nicky and Tin Tin. Congrats to her and hope this opens up a lot more opportunities for her modeling career!
