Behind the tattoo

Every tattoo has a story behind it. Some have a deep emotional connection to it, while others were just for fun. I want to get to know the person behind it and most of all, to listen to their personal story.

In ‘Behind the tattoo’ I meet people of all kinds. I meet them in their natural habitat, which to most of them, is their home and we talk about their past, their lives and of course their tattoos. They all have more than one tattoo, so I pick the one that seems most interesting to me. Beside that, I also take a picture of them in their daily life. What interests me is when both pictures are put side by side, would the viewer have expected this person to wear a tattoo?
